Most engagements land between $15,000 and $150,000, and the range is that wide because scope drives it far more than rate does. A single-platform MVP with a handful of screens and one integration usually sits at the lower end; a multi-tenant platform with billing, role-based access and third-party systems sits at the upper. We quote against a written scope after a discovery call, so the number you see is tied to a specific list of what is being built — not a day rate multiplied by a guess.

A focused MVP typically ships in 8 to 12 weeks; a full platform runs 4 to 9 months. The variable that moves a timeline most is rarely engineering — it is decision latency, third-party access and the availability of your own domain experts for review. We work in two-week sprints with a demo at the end of each, so you see working software from week two rather than a status report.

Discovery, design, build, test, launch, then support — but the part that matters is what happens between those. We start with a discovery phase that produces a written scope and a costed roadmap, not a pitch deck. Design goes to clickable prototype before a line of production code. Build runs in two-week sprints against that scope, with automated tests and code review on every change. Launch includes a rollback plan. You get documented code your own team can maintain, whether or not you keep working with us.

You do, in full, on final payment — source code, designs, documentation and the repository history. That is written into the contract rather than implied. We do not retain a licence to reuse your product code in other clients' projects, and we do not build on a proprietary framework that ties you to us. If you want to move the work in-house or to another vendor, everything you need to do that is already yours.

An NDA is signed before the first technical conversation, not after the proposal. On the build itself we apply encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, secrets held outside the codebase, dependency and vulnerability scanning in CI, and audit logging on anything that touches sensitive records. Where you operate under GDPR, HIPAA or PCI-DSS we design to that regime from the first sprint, because retrofitting compliance costs several times what building to it does.

Three. Fixed scope and fixed price, when the requirement is well defined and you need certainty on cost. Time and materials, when the scope will genuinely evolve and you would rather pay for what you use than for a padded estimate. And a dedicated team, where vetted engineers work inside your process, in your tools and to your hours, with the option to hand the work back whenever you are ready. Most clients start on fixed scope for a first release and move to a dedicated team as the roadmap grows.

Yes, and we would rather you took it, because the first ninety days after launch is when real usage finds what testing did not. Support covers bug fixes, security patching, dependency upgrades, uptime monitoring and performance work, under an agreed response time. Feature development is quoted separately so you are never paying a retainer that quietly turns into a queue.

Usually, yes — and it is often the cheaper answer. We integrate with CRMs, ERPs, payment gateways, EHRs and internal APIs, and where a legacy system has no API we build an integration layer in front of it rather than forcing a rewrite. A rewrite gets recommended only when the existing system cannot meet a requirement you actually have, and we will say which requirement that is.

You interview the engineers before they join, and you can replace anyone who is not the right fit. They work your hours in your tools — your repository, your board, your standups — and report to your leads rather than to a project manager between you and them. There is no minimum lock-in beyond the notice period, and knowledge transfer is part of the exit, not an extra.

Healthcare, fintech, e-commerce, travel, education, media, on-demand services and connected products — and the domain matters more than the stack in every one of them. Healthcare work carries consent and audit obligations from the first sprint; fintech carries reconciliation and regulatory reporting; on-demand lives or dies on dispatch at peak. We have shipped in each, which mainly means we know which questions to ask you in week one.

We do, and it is worth it when there is repetitive judgement work with enough historical data to learn from, and a person who can review the output where a decision is expensive to undo. It is not worth it when the underlying process is undefined — AI on top of an unclear workflow produces confident nonsense faster. We will tell you which of those you have before quoting a model.
